A Gift in Your Will
There is likely to be a delay before we receive the funds, so it is helpful to us if the definitions used are as broad as possible. Over time the names of wards or services provided can change and this can make difficulties when trying to meet someone’s wishes many years later.
A typical form of words for a general purpose legacy might be: “I give the sum of £........ (or other specified property) free of taxes to Wye Valley NHS Trust Charity to be invested by the Trust at its discretion and as permitted by law and for the income and/or capital to be applied by the Trust at its discretion generally for any charitable purpose or purposes relating to the National Health Services. I declare that the receipt of the Director of Finance and Information of the Trust shall be a sufficient discharge to my executors (or trustees).”
