Men’s life-saving NHS screening service celebrates fifth anniversary

A Herefordshire and Worcestershire based life-saving NHS service, which has screened more than 24,000 men so far, is celebrating its five year anniversary. Lugg Ward and Ross Community Hospital wards re-open to visitors

Lugg Ward at Hereford County Hospital and two wards at Ross Community Hospital have re-opened to visitors. The wards had been closed temporarily last week due to cases of Norovirus, which had been brought in from the community. Spring course starts for people with health conditions

People with a long term health condition in the county are being offered a free course to help turn their life around. Anyone in the county with a long term health condition, such as diabetes, arthritis, asthma or depression, are invited to take part in the self-help course, which involves one session a week for six weeks. Herefordshire residents with symptoms of Norovirus are being urged not to visit hospitals to help protect vulnerable and seriously ill patients. Two wards at Ross Community Hospital have been closed to visitors due to cases of Norovirus.
