Patients set to benefit from a new mobile theatre at Hereford County Hospital

Patients at Hereford County Hospital will benefit from a state-of-the-art mobile theatre which is due to arrive at the hospital site in the coming weeks. Wye Valley NHS Trust is to bring the new theatre to the County Hospital to increase its capacity and reduce waiting times for patients. Free health course for Ross-on-Wye residents

Ross-on-Wye residents with long-term health conditions are invited to sign up for a free self-help course which starts next month (March). Chairman reappointed at Wye Valley NHS Trust

The NHS Trust Development Authority (NHS TDA) has confirmed the reappointment of Museji Ahmed Takolia CBE as chairman of Wye Valley NHS Trust. Museji, who has chaired the organisation since June 2014, will now continue in this role until May 2017. Half-term advice for parents and carers of children with asthma

County Hospital outpatient clinic gets £400k makeover

Fred Bulmer Unit outpatient clinic at Hereford County Hospital opened to its first patients this week following a £400k refurbishment of the facilities. The new outpatient clinic area has been created by reconfiguring the existing facilities including office space and clinic rooms.  There are now nine clinic rooms along with support facilities. Hospital food on the menu for local inspectors

The quality of hospital food, the cleanliness of wards and the privacy and dignity of patients at the county’s hospitals are to be put under the microscope by members of the public in the coming months. Neonatal ward manager retires after 13 years

The manager of Hereford County Hospital’s Special Care Baby Unit is retiring after 13 years providing specialist care for babies.  More than 7,000 babies have been cared for in Hereford’s Special Care Baby Unit since Carol originally joined neonatal services as a staff nurse more than 30 years ago.    Carol trained as a registered adult and children’s nurse in Bristol.  She started her career as a staff nurse in Hereford in 1978 on Christopher Robin Ward, before being promoted to ward…
