Job Title: Consultant Upper Limb Surgeon

Qualifications

  • MB ChB
  • MRCS (Ed)
  • FRCS Tr & Orth

Mr Powers studied at Dundee University qualifying in 1996 (MBChB). Following basic surgical training in Stoke Mr Powers commenced his Orthopaedic registrar training in Oswestry, Birmingham and Warwick rotations.

Mr Powers completed Orthopaedic specialist training with an overseas fellowship, in hand, wrist and elbow surgery at the Auckland regional hand unit (New Zealand). He has been a consultant at Hereford The County Hospital from January 2010.

Clinic

  • Elective operation clinic, Monday afternoon, County Hospital - Oxford Suite
  • Fracture clinic, Tuesday afternoon, County Hospital - County Hospital, Eign Suite
  • New patient elective clinic, Thursday morning, County Hospital - Oxford Suite 

 

Inpatient and Day Case services

Mr Powers operates all day on a Friday.

Conditions Treated

Mr Powers treats all conditions affecting the upper limb (shoulder to fingers) be they traumatic or degenerative but has a particular interest in hand and wrist conditions.
