Treatment for Lymphoedema

Lymphoedema treatment is based on the British Lymphology Society (BLS) Best Practice Standards, organised at the discretion of the Lymphoedema CNS and in partnership with the patient. 

Treatment may include:

• Skin care
• Exercise
• Compression garments
• Multi-layer lymphoedema bandaging
• Simple Lymphatic drainage
• Manual Lymphatic Drainage
• Kinesio taping
• Lymph Assist
• Having a healthy diet & lifestyle
• Weight management
• Addressing emotional wellbeing

Once a treatment plan is agreed and a patient’s lymphoedema is stable and well managed the patient will be discharged back to their GP.
