Who we are

The department of podiatric surgery has been located in its own day surgery unit based in Herefordshire since 1994 situated in the peaceful grounds of Belmont Abbey.  It was formed with the express purpose of providing high quality foot surgery service that was also cost effective by the then Hereford Health Authority. The department also provides Herefordshire patients with a high quality Musculoskeletal (MSK) Service which is the provision of non-invasive treatment such as orthoses. 

The department provides podiatric surgery services for the following additional areas:

• Gloucestershire
• Worcestershire
• Shropshire
• Telford and Wrekin
• Gwent
• Powys

The provision of our service in these areas often uses theatre and out-patient clinics within these areas.

Podiatry service

The Trust also provides a podiatry service, which is run by another department within the Trust.  It is our priority to provide care for patients who have a significant foot condition and a relevant medical history.  Many of these patients require ongoing treatment.
