The prostaglandin stage

• Paracetamol
• Codeine
• Pethidine
•  TENS machine
• Warm compresses
• Aromatherapy
• Water - there is a shared bathroom with a shower, it can be helpful to stand in the shower in the early stages with warm water going on to your bump or back. If there is space available on delivery suite it may be possible to use one of the baths over there. 
  
  Releasing your waters stage

• Comfort measures as described in prostglandin stage as well as:
• Gas and air
• Pethidine
• Epidural 
  
  Syntocinon stage

• Epidural

If you’re induction is classed as ‘low risk’ for example if you are being induced for a post dates pregnancy, and syntocinon is not needed, then the pool is also an option for pain relief.
