Neonatal outreach and transitional care
We also have a neonatal community outreach team, who are trained neonatal nurses that can support you once your baby is discharged from the unit at home in the community
We have three transitional care beds on the unit, which enables us to facilitate mums to stay alongside their baby.
Unfortunately, we do not have the space that allows us to offer overnight accommodation to fathers/other carers, and so although parents are welcome to be on the unit 24 hours a day, if your baby is in one of our transitional care bed spaces we would respectfully ask fathers/other carers to leave at 10pm to allow the mothers and baby to rest.
We also have two additional bedrooms which enables us to allow parents to stay together with their baby in preparation for discharge.
