Mr Powers studied at Dundee University qualifying in 1996 (MBChB). Following basic surgical training in Stoke Mr Powers commenced his Orthopaedic registrar training in Oswestry, Birmingham and Warwick rotations.
Mr Powers completed Orthopaedic specialist training with an overseas fellowship, in hand, wrist and elbow surgery at the Auckland regional hand unit (New Zealand). He has been a consultant at Hereford The County Hospital from January 2010.

Mr Powers treats all conditions affecting the upper limb (shoulder to fingers) be they traumatic or degenerative but has a particular interest in hand and wrist conditions.
