Employment
Can you sign me off work?
If you are off work sick for 7 days or less, you do not need a fit note unless there are limitations that your workplace has imposed on you.
If you are off work sick for more than 7 days, your employer will usually ask for a fit note (or Statement of Fitness for Work, doctor’s note) provided by your GP.
If you have been admitted to hospital under the Rheumatology team, we can provide you with a clinical letter and you will also have you discharge summary.
Can you complete my PIP paperwork?
Please speak with your GP if you need help. The Rheumatology team cannot usually help you to fill this out, however, we may supply advice if needed in unusual circumstances or a clinical letter about your Rheumatology condition if necessary.
