How long will the Rheumatology medication take to start working?
Most disease-modifying medications (DMARDs) take 8-12 weeks to be effective, particularly if they require a gradual dose increase. Some patients notice an improvement earlier than this.
It's important to take your medicine as instructed, even if you start to feel better, as the medication can help prevent flare-ups and reduce the risk of further problems, such as joint damage.
