About Wye Ward
The County Hospital Stroke Unit is located on Wye Ward, which can be found on the first floor of the main hospital building.
A stroke unit is an organized in-hospital facility that is devoted to care for patients with stroke. It is staffed by a multidisciplinary team with specialist knowledge in stroke care.
Wye Ward is a 26 bedded stroke unit which includes:
- A 6 bedded hyper acute stroke unit (HASU) which is generally used for the initial part of your stay on the ward.
- The remaining 20 beds are a mix of acute and rehabilitation stroke beds, where you will continue to have your rehabilitation at this acute stage of stroke recovery.

Research
