Elaine Taylor
Elaine Taylor started working for Wye Valley NHS Trust in August 2005 after qualifying as a Diagnostic Radiographer.
My name is Elaine Taylor and I am a Sonographer working in the Radiology department. I started working at the Trust in August 2005. I had just qualified as a Diagnostic Radiographer at Birmingham City University. I gained much experience working as a general Radiographer undertaking theatre work as well as x-raying patients from the wards, GP’s and outpatients. I found my time as a Radiographer very rewarding and the help and support from my colleagues in radiology stood me in good stead to move on to other aspects of imaging.
I enjoy working at the Trust and hope to continue for many long years.
After about 4 years I undertook in house training for Computed Tomography and Mammography which I enjoyed very much. This helped me to further gain confidence and widened my skills.
In 2014 I started training for my PG Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecological Ultrasound. It was always my ambition to eventually become a Sonographer. I completed this diploma in 2016. I am now training to scan abdominal and general ultrasound at Birmingham. The support and patience of my colleagues has again been much appreciated. I continue to enjoy working at the Trust and hope to continue for many long years.
