As the largest employer in the UK the NHS has over 350 different careers to choose from. You could be a speech and language therapist, chef, dietitian, cleaner, secretary, engineer, laboratory scientist, occupational therapist, or maybe a surgeon. The list goes on.
Work experience and work placements within the NHS aim to show you how it really works and what it is really like. It can also help you develop lots of transferable skills like being a part of a team and communication skills, which may help give you a head start when you apply for a job or university course. Participating in work experience and/or work placements also demonstrates a commitment to your future career within the organisation.
