Further education
We offer learners who are part of a Further Education (FE) programme and, as a cohorted group, would like to come and join the organisation as part of a rotation programme to explore the various departments and careers in the NHS and WVT specifically.
With this offer FE providers can access up to 75 hours of work experience for their students (this is subject to change). During the application process expressions of interest will be requested for any particular areas of interest. While we cannot guarantee these requests will be facilitated we will try to accommodate preferences as far as reasonably possible.
Based on the information received in the application the work experience team will create a rotation programme that will cover the duration of the placement. Usually this will be a week long placement, from Monday to Friday, but we can be flexible with length according to need.
Within this offer learners will:
- Complete an application process
- Undertake a comprehensive online Trust induction
- Be provided with a full rotation timetable
- Have access to the work experience team before, during and after the placement dates
- Have a meet and greet at the start and end of each day with a member of the WVT team
- Have a final conclusion session where learning and experiences can be shared
- Complete a feedback form upon completion of the work experience
We have a maximum capacity per cohorted group, which can be discussed on enquiry.
How can I access this?
This offer is only available through an FE provider. We will work with the FE work experience co-ordinator to facilitate these placements. If you would like to discuss this opportunity email the work experience team workexperience@wvt.nhs.uk or you can also call the team on 07976223042.
If your or your child’s college does not currently access this offer please discuss directly with the FE provider’s work experience co-ordinator in the first instance.
Each applicant will be expected to complete the application process, which will be sent to you on expression of interest. Without completion and the satisfactory return of the appropriate checks we will be unable to host the work experience placement.
The team requires at least 6 month’s notice to ensure we have adequate time to plan and facilitate the rotations.
