CQC rates Emergency Department as “Requires Improvement” and praises staff for being very caring
Following an inspection of the Emergency Department at Hereford County Hospital, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) has recognised its staff as very caring, although it gave the department an overall “Requires Improvement” rating due to concerns over patient safety.
Bromyard Community Hospital ward closed to visitors due to Norovirus
As a preventative measure, visiting on the inpatient ward at Bromyard Community Hospital is only permitted on compassionate grounds and after discussion with the nurse in charge. These restrictions are in place to prevent the further spread of diarrhoea and vomiting which is affecting some patients.

WVT patients to be contacted in bid to cut waiting lists
Patients in Herefordshire waiting more than 12 weeks for an appointment or procedure are being contacted by SMS text message, letter or telephone to help reduce hospital waiting lists so that patients can be seen as quickly as possible.
