Invitation to Type 1 diabetes meeting for patients registered with local GP

Wye Valley NHS Trust is inviting people aged 18 years or over, with type 1 diabetes, to a health education and support meeting taking place on Tuesday 24 September in the evening at the Kindle Centre, in Hereford.

The free event, which is being run by the Wye Valley NHS Trust adult diabetes team, will focus on protecting long term health for patients with diabetes, including education on foot care, mental health support, diabetes annual reviews, hybrid closed loop update and an opportunity to ask questions.

Laura Haden, specialist diabetes dietitian at Wye Valley NHS Trust, said:  “This is a great opportunity for people to come along to find out more about managing diabetes effectively to help to protect their long term health.  It’s a friendly group where people can ask our specialist team questions, and meet other people living with type 1 diabetes to share their experiences.

“If you’re interested in coming along to our evening meeting on Tuesday 24 September and you are either registered with a Hereford GP or Wye Valley NHS Trust diabetes team, please email us to book your place - diabetes.dietitianswvt@nhs.net or call or text your details to 07966 806701.  Places are limited.”

The meeting details, including start time, will be provided once a place has been confirmed. Refreshments and free parking are available.

Due to limited space, please let us know if you require someone to attend with you. To book a place email diabetes.dietitianswvt@nhs.net or call 07966 806701.
